Job summary

State Farm is offering a remote-first Property & Casualty Claims internship based in Lynchburg, VA, with one scheduled in-person week per hub location. The program targets sophomores to seniors graduating in 2027–2029 and may extend across two summers, providing hands-on experience in investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and policy application.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as a full-time student during the internship.
• Summer internship dates: June 2, 2027 – August 11, 2027; 38.75 hours per week.
• Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Build claim-handling skills including investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and policy application.
• Work with experienced claims professionals on property claims (fire-related and weather-related).
• Learn to inspect residential and commercial properties.
• Develop safe field-inspection practices and use equipment per safety guidelines.
