Job summary

Charter Impact seeks a Director of Client Finance to oversee service delivery and act as an outsourced CFO for client organizations. The role leads all finance, accounting, and compliance reporting with cross-team collaboration. Remote-first with travel up to 25% and national scope within the United States.

The DOCF will guide financial operations, budgets, audits, and client communications, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and exceptional service while growing on a national scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
• Master's degree in Finance or Accounting highly desired.
• 7 years of experience, with staff oversight/people development.
• Experience in nonprofit accounting and/or charter school finance is a plus.
• CPA highly desired but not required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee financial statement preparation, accounts payable/receivable, grant reporting, and ad hoc reporting.
• Ensure GAAP compliance across client statements and audits.
• Prepare budgets and forecasts; provide insights on financial condition.
• Oversee annual financial and governmental audits (A-133) and liaise with auditors.
• Mentor staff and develop client relationships; ensure timely, accurate information.
