Unknown is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to partner with executive leadership and shape long-term financial direction across the organization. This remote role requires travel about 25% of the time and leads the finance function, budgeting, forecasting, and regulatory compliance.

The successful candidate will translate strategy into practical financial models, oversee audits, and communicate with the Board of Directors and Finance Committee.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field is required.
• CPA certification required; CPA is essential for leadership in finance.
• 10–15 years of progressive financial leadership experience.
• Experience advising executive leadership teams and boards.
• Strong background in financial planning and analysis.
• Experience with budgeting and financial reporting.
• Experience with regulatory compliance and audit oversight.
• Ability to translate strategic goals into effective financial/operating models.
• Executive presence with proactive leadership and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Serve as trusted advisor to CEO and executive team on financial strategy and long-range planning.
• Lead financial planning and analysis to support decision-making and performance.
• Develop forward-looking financial models and scenario analyses for investments and decisions.
• Provide leadership on regulatory matters and enterprise risk.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and compliance.
• Ensure GAAP-aligned systems and internal processes; strengthen controls.
• Manage banking relationships, investments, and cash management.
• Oversee audits (GL and 403(b)) and present to Finance Committee/Board.
• Report monthly results to Finance Committee and quarterly updates to Board.
• Lead the finance department and build a high-performing team.
