Job summary

Infinx is seeking a part-time Outpatient Pro Fee Coder to accurately abstract physician services from records using ICD-10 CM coding. The role emphasizes high accuracy, adherence to coding guidelines, and collaboration with client teams to ensure proper reimbursement.

The ideal candidate has 1+ year of outpatient profee coding experience, AHIMA/AAPC certification, and strong MS Office skills. Remote work with 20–30 hours weekly, between 6am–8pm Mon-Fri, is offered.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• AHIMA or AAPC Certification (CPC, CPC-M, CPMA, CEMC or CCS-P preferred).
• Experience with Epic.
• 1+ years of experience in outpatient profee medical coding.
• Ability to work independently and within a team atmosphere.
• Advanced and proficient knowledge of ICD-10 CM and ICD-10.
• MS Office proficiency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Must be able to type proficiently and with an effective pace.
• Proficient application of business/office standard processes and technical applications.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes technical coding expertise to review the medical record thoroughly and abstract physicians' professional services and diagnosis codes.
• Follows Official Coding Guidelines to assign ICD-10 CM/ICD-10 codes and modifiers with high accuracy.
• Provides documentation feedback to client and/or account manager.
• Maintains coding reference information.
• Reviews and communicates new or revised billing and coding guidelines and information with providers and their assigned specialty.
• Resolves pre-accounts receivable edits and reports repetitive documentation problems and system issues.
• Makes changes to incorrectly billed services, adds missing unbilled services, and corrects CPT and ICD-10 codes and modifiers.
• Collaborates with Revenue Cycle staff to provide coding reimbursement assistance and drafting letters for appeals.
