Job summary

Infinx, a growing healthcare technology company, is seeking an Outpatient Pro Fee Coder to abstract physician services from medical records using ICD-10-CM/ICD-10. This remote, part-time role requires 20-30 hours weekly between 6am–8pm Monday–Friday and emphasizes accuracy and productivity.

The ideal candidate has AHIMA or AAPC certification, experience with Epic, and 1+ year outpatient professional coding experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• AHIMA or AAPC Certification CPC, CPC-M, CPMA, CEMC or CCS-P preferred.
• Experience with Epic.
• 1+ years of experience in outpatient profee medical coding.
• Ability to work independently and within a team atmosphere.
• Advanced and proficient knowledge of ICD-10 CM and ICD-10.
• Self-motivated and passionate about our mission and values of quality work.
• MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) at professional level.
• Proficient typing pace and accuracy.
• Proficient application of business/office processes and technical applications.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes technical coding expertise to review the medical record and abstract physicians’ professional services and diagnosis codes.
• Follows Official Coding Guidelines to assign ICD-10-CM/ICD-10 codes and modifiers with high accuracy.
• Provides documentation feedback to client and/or account manager.
• Maintains coding reference information.
• Reviews and communicates new or revised billing and coding guidelines with providers and their specialties.
• Resolves pre-accounts receivable edits and reports repetitive documentation problems or system issues.
• Makes changes to incorrectly billed services and adds missing data as appropriate.
• Collaborates with Revenue Cycle staff to provide coding reimbursement assistance; assists with drafting letters for appeals.
• May work with Account inquiry unit staff as requested.
• Assists in obtaining documentation (notes, operative reports, etc.) and provides additional code/modifier information.
• Meets established coding productivity and quality standards for each encounter type.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
