DaMar Staffing seeks a Medical Coder (Outpatient) for a fully remote engagement serving VA medical centers across GA, AL, and SC. You will code outpatient encounters using ICD-10-CM, CPT-4, HCPCS II, and E/M guidelines to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Requirements include active CPC/CCS/CCS-P/RHIT/RHIA/CPC-H credentials, 2+ years outpatient coding experience, VA system familiarity, U.S. citizenship, and HIPAA training. Initial 12-month term with potential extensions.

Qualifications

• Active credential (CPC/CCS/CCS-P/RHIT/RHIA/CPC-H).
• At least 2 years outpatient coding experience.
• Experience with VA systems such as VistA, CPRS, PCE.
• Knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, NCCI edits, and coding modifiers.
• Able to pass federal background checks and maintain confidentiality.

Responsabilités

• Code outpatient encounters across clinic visits, urgent care, radiology, laboratory, and outpatient surgery.
• Assign appropriate E/M levels per guidelines.
• Apply NCCI edits and use modifiers when supported by documentation.
• Review CPT codes for components of larger procedures.
• Determine billability and identify documentation gaps or duplicate records.
• Correct codes post-review before billing or after denials.
