Job description

Position Summary:
We are looking for a highly accurate and detail-oriented Outpatient Medical Coder to join our remote team. This role is responsible for reviewing outpatient medical records and assigning appropriate CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS codes to ensure accurate billing and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:

* Analyze and code outpatient medical records using ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS Level II codes.
* Ensure coding accuracy and adherence to official coding guidelines and payer-specific requirements.
* Collaborate with providers and billing teams to clarify documentation and resolve discrepancies.
* Maintain productivity and quality standards as defined by the department.
* Stay current with coding updates, payer policies, and compliance regulations.
Required Qualifications:

* AHIMA Certification required: CCA, CCS-P, COC, CPC, RHIA or RHIT
* Minimum of 2 years of outpatient coding experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
* Strong knowledge of outpatient coding guidelines and medical terminology.
* Proficiency with EHR systems and coding software.
* Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience with Epic, Cerner, or similar EHR platforms.
* Familiarity with outpatient surgical and specialty coding.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
