Job summary

UCHealth is seeking a Coding Specialist for a 100% remote role. The candidate will review medical records, assign diagnostic and procedure codes, and ensure accurate charges for clinics/departments. Strong attention to detail and ability to communicate with department managers are essential.

Credentials such as Certified Coding Specialist or CPC are required, with RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CCS-P within 1 year from hire preferred. Eligible out-of-state candidates may be considered.

Qualifications

• Credentials: Certified Coding Specialist, Certified Professional Coder, RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P, CCA, CPC, CPC-H within 1 year from hire.

Responsibilities

• Reviews medical records to assign codes using appropriate coding classifications.
• Assigns charges for clinics/departments as appropriate.
• Communicates with manager on coding and documentation issues.
• Seeks clarification from providers to ensure accurate coding.
