Job summary

Sonic in the United States is seeking an OSP Project Engineer I to manage daily operations of the outside fiber plant, including engineering, permitting, contracting, and relocations. You will design and develop complex OSP installations and upgrades, reporting to the Engineering Project Manager.

The role is full-time (40 hours/week) with the option to work fully remote. Strong knowledge of telecom standards and the ability to coordinate with utilities and contractors are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with OSP engineering/construction practices.
• Familiar with NESC, GO 95/GO 128.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Travel is not expected for this position.

Responsibilities

• Apply general telecommunication industry standards and practices as well as government codes and regulations.
• Coordinate with utilities, governmental agencies, and contractors for proper placement of facilities.
• Serve as a liaison between Sonic, Engineers, Construction Managers, Contractors & Public Utility Companies.
• Actively seek to resolve delays quickly and efficiently during the life cycle of the project.
• Read and interpret outside plant records including data and maps.
