Job summary

First Point Group is seeking an OSP Permitting Coordinator with environmental experience for nationwide remote projects. You will review environmental and cultural-resource requirements, coordinate with SHPO/THPO and agencies, and help move fiber/broadband infrastructure projects toward clearance.

Responsibilities include coordinating Section 106/NHPA compliance, identifying permitting needs, reviewing routes with GIS tools, and maintaining documentation across multiple projects with regulatory

Qualifications

• Experience in environmental permitting, environmental compliance, cultural resources, archaeology, historic preservation, or regulatory coordination.
• Working knowledge of Section 106 / NHPA.
• Experience coordinating with government agencies and regulatory stakeholders.
• Experience reviewing linear infrastructure projects, construction corridors, or utility/telecommunications routes.

Responsibilities

• Review proposed OSP fiber routes and construction plans.
• Conduct desktop reviews using GIS, mapping tools, aerial imagery, and other available resources.
• Identify potential environmental, archaeological, historic, and cultural-resource constraints.
• Determine applicable federal, state, and local environmental requirements.
• Identify agencies and stakeholders requiring coordination.
• Help establish permitting and environmental-clearance requirements before construction.
• Support or manage Section 106/NHPA compliance activities.
• Research potential historic properties and archaeological resources.
• Coordinate cultural-resource and archaeological surveys.
• Review cultural-resource documentation and technical reports.
• Coordinate with SHPO, THPO, and other stakeholders.
• Track agency comments, requests, findings, and required mitigation.
• Coordinate avoidance and mitigation strategies when cultural resources may be affected.
• Maintain accurate documentation of environmental and cultural-resource reviews dealing with wetlands, highways/railways, historic properties, Native American resources, and regulatory constraints.
