Job summary

Sigma Technologies is seeking an experienced OSP Field Designer to support telecommunications projects via field data collection, route verification, drafting, and design. This role involves 50%-75% travel, initial work in Shreveport, LA and Little Rock, AR, with remote work when not in field.

Applicants must be capable of field data collection, site surveys, and producing construction-ready design packages using AutoCAD and GIS tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree or higher preferred in engineering, drafting, GIS, or related field.
• 2+ years of OSP fiber design or related experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform outside plant field walkouts, site surveys, and route verification to collect data.
• Identify poles, attachments, equipment, and route constraints.
• Capture field data and prepare design inputs for drafting.
• Translate field conditions into accurate design inputs and construction packages.
• Execute OSP fiber designs (FTTx, aerial, underground, joint-use).
• Perform 2-D drafting with AutoCAD or similar CAD tools.
• Interpret maps, notes, standards, and customer specifications for designs.
• Collaborate with project teams to complete assigned work.
• Travel to initial field areas in LA/AR and other sites as needed.
