Job summary

Sigma Technologies, Ltd. seeks an OSP Field Designer to balance field data collection with design work for telecommunications projects. You will conduct site surveys, capture data, and translate field conditions into accurate design packages, including 2-D drafting with AutoCAD.

Expect travel to Louisiana and Arkansas areas with remote work when not in the field. Initial onboarding includes a 2-week in-person orientation at the Perrysburg, OH headquarters.

Qualifications

• Requires 2+ years outside plant fiber design, fiber drafting, telecommunications design, or related OSP design experience.
• Experience with field data collection, field walkouts, or field verification to support OSP fiber design work.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD or similar CAD tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform outside plant field walkouts, site surveys, and route verification to collect data.
• Identify poles, attachments, equipment, structures, and constraints.
• Capture photos, measurements, GPS data, field notes for drafting and construction deliverables.
• Map field data and translate field conditions into design inputs and packages.
• Execute OSP fiber designs including FTTx, aerial, underground, and joint-use.
• Perform 2-D drafting and design using CAD tools.
• Interpret field notes and maps to complete OSP designs.
• Apply OSP design standards and permitting considerations as needed.
• Prepare or support joint-use applications and route analysis.
• Collaborate with supervisors, managers, designers, and field staff.
• Support initial fieldwork areas with travel to other project areas as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
