Job summary

Cable One is hiring an OSP Designer II to create cost-effective broadband system designs that meet Cable One standards. You will produce CAD/GIS files and coordinate with Technical Operations, Construction, and Engineering to deliver high-quality design work.

You will work on HFC architectures, fiber topology, and plant upgrades, while maintaining Cable One’s design and digitizing standards in a flexible remote-friendly format.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or university with minimum five years related experience.
• Experience with GIS applications (ESRI) and Schneider design software per Cable One standards.
• Knowledge of cable design and HFC/Fiber symbology.
• Familiarity with telecom outside plant equipment, design and construction techniques.
• Strong Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel, Outlook, Word).

Responsibilities

• Design new and existing HFC plant extensions.
• Perform base drafting and read walkout information.
• Update as-builts as construction is completed and releases area.
• Provide full design packets with deliverables in a timely manner.
• Learn new software and adapt to new technology as required.
• Create fiber splicing matrices and Lightpath circuits.
• Assess fiber availability and reinforcement requirements.
• Design major plant upgrades and redesigns.
• Manage multiple projects with accuracy.
