Job summary

Eastern Research Group, Inc. is seeking curious, detail-oriented analysts to support OSHA-related programs by analyzing and classifying real-world workplace data. This fully remote, entry- to mid-level role offers opportunities for growth within a supportive team and optional in-person workspace if nearby.

You will analyze records, draft succinct narratives, and assign case characteristics using OIICS. A bachelor’s degree and up to 5 years’ experience are expected, with strong writing and data

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in communications, health/environmental science, math/statistics, or related field.
• 0–5 years of experience.
• Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail; apply rules consistently.
• Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication; convey complex information clearly.
• Outstanding time-management and ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Experience or interest in data analysis, public health, occupational safety, epidemiology, or related fields.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint).
• Willingness to learn new software and technical skills as required.

Responsibilities

• Review injury, illness, and fatality records; apply standardized classification codes (OIICS).
• Exercise independent judgement to classify cases with speed and consistency.
• Draft brief incident narratives in plain, concise language.
• Manage multiple work queues and deadlines with high quality and attention to detail.
• Collaborate with team members and senior analysts for guidance and quality checks.
• Contribute to documentation, process improvements, and evolving analytical practices over time.
• Experience with OIICS, ICD coding; training for OIICS v3.03 will be provided.
