Job summary

ERG is seeking curious, detail-oriented analysts to analyze and classify real-world workplace injury and illness data. You will support OSHA efforts by applying OIICS coding, drafting concise incident narratives, and collaborating with a team of analysts in a fully remote setting.

This entry- to mid-level role offers flexible remote work from home or a shared workspace, with opportunities to grow in occupational health and safety analysis and data management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in communications, health/environmental science, mathematics/statistics, or a related field.
• 0 to 5 years of experience.
• Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail with consistent rule application.
• Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
• Outstanding time-management and organizational skills for remote work.
• Experience or strong interest in data analysis, public health, occupational safety, epidemiology, or related fields.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint).
• Willingness and ability to learn new software and technical skills.

Responsibilities

• Review injury, illness, and fatality records and apply standardized case-classification codes (OIICS).
• Exercise independent judgment to classify cases with speed and consistency.
• Draft brief incident narratives in plain, concise language.
• Manage multiple work queues and deadlines with high quality.
• Collaborate with team members and senior analysts for guidance and QA.
• Contribute to documentation, processes, and evolving analytical practices.
• Experience with OIICS or ICD coding is preferred; training provided.
