Job summary

North Point Technology is seeking a mid-level Oracle DBA to support day-to-day Oracle operations at the Government Publishing Office, Washington, DC. This full-time role is remote within the U.S. with occasional on-site requirements for government work.

You will administer Oracle databases, perform RMAN backups, execute patches, implement failovers, and work with ServiceNow tickets while meeting SLAs. Federal support experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of database administration experience, focused on Oracle.
• Experience with RMAN backups/restores and PL/SQL.
• Experience configuring and managing standalone Oracle databases.
• Familiarity with SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, and MS Access.
• Solid scripting and automation skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Oracle databases, including RMAN backups and restores.
• Execute patching, installs, and routine server maintenance.
• Implement and test failovers and recovery procedures.
• Triage and troubleshoot Oracle and MS Access issues.
• Help users build and configure databases.
• Work ServiceNow tickets and RFCs within SLAs.
• Monitor systems with Idera and SolarWinds and tune alerts.
• Contribute to weekly activity reports.
