Job summary

The ACLU of Oklahoma seeks a Legal Intern who will gain hands-on experience in civil rights litigation, research, and writing while contributing to strategy development. This remote-optional internship is based in Oklahoma City and requires a minimum commitment of 10 hours per week.

Open to all law students who will have completed their 1L year, the internship offers up to 20 hours per week at $15 per hour, with priority given to applications received by February 3, 2025.

Qualifications

• Must be a law student who has completed their 1L year.
• Strong legal research and writing skills.
• Familiarity with civil rights issues and constitutional law.
• Proficiency with SharePoint, MS Office and Westlaw.

Responsibilities

• Conduct legal and factual research and draft memoranda.
• Draft open records requests and review public records.
• Draft and edit motions, letters, and other filings.
• Attend meetings with staff and litigation teams.
• Attend court hearings and public meetings as needed.
• Assist with litigation tasks as required.
