Job summary

ACLU seeks a Summer Legal Intern in the Disability Rights Project of the National office in Washington D.C. or San Francisco, CA. This position may be remote or hybrid.

Qualifying applicants must currently be matriculated legal students and must be based in the U.S. for the entire duration of the internship. The intern will gain experience in legal research, writing, factual investigation, and strategic advocacy to advance litigation and integrated advocacy.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S.-based law student for the duration of the internship.
• Open to current U.S. law students enrolled in law school.
• Strong research and writing abilities are essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist in legal research and writing, factual investigation, and strategic advocacy.
• Participate in litigation, advocacy, and internal meetings and discussions.
• Support DRP litigation work and integrated advocacy across priority areas.
• Prepare for and assist in court proceedings, such as depositions, hearings, or trials.
