Job summary

Prism Vision Group is seeking a remote Virtual Clinical Assistant to support a busy ophthalmology practice. The role focuses on real-time medical scribing, documenting HPI, exam findings, and treatment plans to keep providers focused on patient care.

Ideal candidates have ophthalmology experience, strong English and medical terminology, and proficiency with EHR/EMR. This full-time remote position offers flexible home office setup and competitive hourly compensation.

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years experience in General Ophthalmology and/or Retina.
Experience supporting ophthalmologists through medical scribing or virtual clinical assistance.
Strong ophthalmic terminology, diagnoses, imaging, and workflows.
Experience using EHR/EMR systems.
Excellent English with high typing speed; bilingual a plus.

Responsibilities

Provide real-time medical scribing during patient encounters in ophthalmology.
Document ophthalmic testing, imaging findings, injections, laser procedures, and other clinical information in the EHR.
Maintain complete, accurate medical records and ensure quality documentation to support care.
Prepare visit summaries and finalize charts promptly to support provider workflows.
Communicate with physicians via secure messaging to coordinate care.
Uphold HIPAA compliance in documentation and communications.
Perform additional administrative or clinical support tasks as assigned.
