Job summary

HIVE in Austin is recruiting an operator to remotely operate and supervise large industrial machines at customer sites. You will start with pre-operation checks, then remotely control forklifts, wheel loaders and excavators, stepping in when human input is required and training on new machine types as Hive expands its reach.

The role emphasizes safety, situational awareness, and the ability to work shifts, including nights and weekends, across sites in the US.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional experience operating heavy equipment or industrial vehicles.
• Hands-on operating experience with more than one type of machine.
• Strong safety record and good judgement under pressure.
• Comfortable with computers and screens, and keen to learn new software.

Responsibilities

• Start with pre-operation checks on the machine, cameras and station.
• Remotely operate forklifts, wheel loaders and other industrial machines, and supervise autonomous operations.
• Operate manually in the cab during testing and deployment where required and appropriately qualified.
• Follow site safety rules and Hive's operating procedures, and stop the machine when in doubt.
• Log issues and provide clear feedback for engineering and operations teams.
• Work with customer site crews to ensure safe, reliable and productive operations.
• Train and qualify on additional machine types as Hive expands its applications.
