Job Title: Remote Operations Manager (100% Work From Home)

Location: Remote from Latin America

Position Type: Full-time

Salary: $2,500 USD/month paid via Gusto

Schedule: Monday–Friday (Some Flexibility Required)

Travel Requirement: Must have or be able to obtain a visa to travel to the U.S. at least once annually

Job Overview

Our client is a growing self-storage company based in Texas, serving thousands of customers across multiple locations. They operate with a lean team and a high standard — emphasizing trust, professionalism, and extreme ownership. They're growing fast and need sharp, reliable team members who can help us maintain quality service while they scale.
The two company co-founders have been wearing too many hats: managing the team, running day-to-day operations, sourcing deals, closing acquisitions, and raising capital. That’s not sustainable as they grow.
We’re looking for a trusted, capable operator to step in as our client's first key hire at the corporate level — someone who can take charge of daily operations, elevate team performance, and help them scale. This person will be their right hand, freeing up the founders to focus on growth and strategy.
We need someone they trust implicitly, who can drive execution, elevate our people, and help them build scalable systems across the company.
Responsibilities:
  • Team & Employee Management
    • Supervise, support, and manage a team of ~10 property managers (on-site and remote)
    • Lead daily or weekly team check-ins, reviews, and KPI updates
    • Maintain accountability, deliver constructive feedback, and resolve personnel issues
  • Operational Oversight
    • Ensure all storage sites are running efficiently and professionally
    • Oversee rentals, collections, delinquency handling, and vendor coordination
    • Monitor call volume and customer interactions to optimize staffing and responsiveness
  • Process Improvement
    • Identify workflow inefficiencies and propose scalable solutions
    • Implement new systems, documentation, and SOPs as needed
    • Ensure consistency across locations and teams
  • Vendor & Maintenance Management
    • Coordinate and oversee service vendors, repair personnel, and contractors
    • Obtain quotes, evaluate proposals, and manage project timelines
    • Ensure issues are resolved promptly and cost-effectively
  • Customer Experience & Escalations
    • Set the tone for high-quality customer service
    • Step in on escalated customer matters as needed
    • Hold team accountable to company standards of professionalism and tone
  • Business Reporting & Communication
    • Deliver weekly operations updates and reports to company leadership
    • Track site-level KPIs, financial indicators, and team performance metrics
    • Collaborate with founders to execute on growth and performance initiatives
  • After-Hours Responsibility
    • Take full responsibility for operational issues that arise after hours, including handling escalations, team needs, or urgent maintenance calls.
Qualifications, Skills, and Key Competencies:
Required
  • 3+ years of experience in an operations leadership role
  • Proven ability to manage people and hold teams accountable
  • Strong command of English (written and spoken)
  • Organized, resourceful, and highly communicative
  • Experience using tools like Google Sheets, Trello, Slack, and CRMs
  • Available to work U.S. Central Time business hours
Preferred
  • Background in self-storage, real estate, or property management
  • Experience managing a remote or distributed team
  • Familiarity with RingCentral, StorEdge, or similar property management tools • Spanish-English bilingual
  • Valid travel visa to the U.S. (or willingness to obtain one)

  • Judgment. You’ll make dozens of decisions a day. We’re looking for someone who knows when to move fast and when to ask for input.
  • After-Hours Ownership. This is not a 9-to-5 role. You are expected to be reachable and responsive when issues arise after hours — and take full ownership of resolving them promptly.
