Job summary

The Unitarian Universalist Veatch Program at Shelter Rock seeks an Operations Manager to lead day-to-day operations for a nationally distributed grantmaking program. The role supervises staff, manages budgets, and optimizes administrative systems to support program delivery.

Responsibilities include governance support, reporting, data management, and collaborating with the Executive Director on strategic planning. Remote work is possible with periodic NY travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; 8–10 years of progressive operations experience.
• Experience in philanthropy or grantmaking organizations preferred.
• Experience managing distributed/remote teams preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; videoconferencing tech for virtual teams; grantmaking systems and CRMs.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations for the Veatch Program’s national grantmaking portfolio and staff.
• Manage administrative functions, HR, budgeting, and financial administration.
• Lead data systems integration and grant administration; improve tools and policies.
• Supervise staff and consultants; coordinate annual planning with the Executive Director.
