Job summary

The Boring Company is seeking a Remote Operations Engineer to observe, advise, and direct remotely controlled mining operations from the Global Operations Control Center. You will document failures, standardize procedures, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to boost productivity and reduce downtime.

You will analyze production data, implement process improvements, and ensure safety compliance while supporting installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of tunneling equipment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, robotics, mechatronics, production engineering, manufacturing, logistics, integration engineering, project management or related field.
• Proven experience in remote-controlled field operations in military, mining, or infrastructure sectors.
• Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and robotic systems.
• Analytical thinking and strategic problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency with data-driven decision tools.
• Solid project management skills with task prioritization and resource management.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across diverse teams.
• Willingness to work long hours and travel up to 10% to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Remotely observe, advise, and direct mining operations from the GOCC.
• Record and document mining-process failures affecting cost, speed, or reliability.
• Develop and maintain documentation to standardize mining operations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve field operations and productivity.
• Monitor production data, identify improvement opportunities, and implement solutions.
• Ensure safety protocols and regulatory compliance.
• Provide technical support during installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of tunneling equipment.
• Develop training programs for field personnel to uphold protocols.
• Stay current with tunneling technology trends and share best practices.
