Job summary

The New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) seeks a dedicated Operations Engineering Engineer to join the team in Rensselaer, NY. You will determine reliability transfer limits, review facilities, and perform power system studies to support transmission planning and compliance.

You will develop analyses for management decisions, participate in NERC, NPCC, and NYISO study groups, and provide SME oversight. Remote days are allowed; onsite presence several days per week is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering required with coursework in power systems.
• Two years of related industry experience; knowledge of power systems and tools.
• Master's Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform analytical engineering system studies (seasonal operating studies, stability and short-circuit studies).
• Review NYISO facilities, protection systems, and restoration plans; support committees and stakeholders.
• Develop engineering studies and analyses to aid management decisions and compliance with standards.
• Participate in NERC, NPCC, Regional and NYISO study groups; provide SME technical support.
