Job summary

NYISO, the New York Independent System Operator, invites applications for a full-time Planning Engineer in Rensselaer, NY. You will coordinate and perform interconnection studies for new generation, transmission and load facilities and prepare reports and filings.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering (power system focus) and at least two years of planning or design experience. Familiarity with PSS/E, PowerGEM TARA, and ASPEN is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, power-system focus preferred; Master’s degree desirable.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and perform interconnection studies for proposed generation, transmission, and load facilities.
• Prepare interconnection study reports and associated documentation.
• Lead or participate in project study meetings and coordinate with developers, transmission owners, and consultants.
