Job summary

Eastern Iowa Community College District seeks an Online Adjunct Faculty member for the Mathematics pool. The role involves teaching math courses online with potential evening sections and multiple sites and requires commitment to strong teaching and service aligned with the college mission.

Minimum qualifications include a Master’s in Mathematics/Statistics or a Master’s in any field with 12 graduate hours in math/statistics (6 in math). Prior teaching experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Mathematics or Statistics OR master’s degree in any field plus 12 graduate credit hours in qualifying fields (min 6 in Math/Stats).
• Non-qualifying graduate courses may qualify if content aligns with the taught subject, per EICC guidelines.
• Previous teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in accordance with established outcomes and delivery formats.
• Collaborate in curriculum development and revision as needed.
• Meet scheduled classes promptly and attend faculty/college/district/advisory meetings.
• Ensure student outcomes are achieved and provide regular feedback on performance.
• Refer students to Academic Support and Student Services and meet accommodations as required.
• Serve as a student academic advisor and develop assessment instruments to validate outcomes.
• Maintain attendance, progress, and grade records; plan effective learning strategies.
• Contribute to recruitment and retention efforts and participate in departmental improvement initiatives.
