Job summary

Des Moines Area Community College seeks an Adjunct Instructor for developmental and technical mathematics to teach face-to-face and/or online courses for Fall 2026 and Spring 2027, primarily in the Des Moines metro area.

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Math or Math Education (or secondary math licensure); Master’s degree with math credits is preferred, and teaching experience is valued. Days and times are yet to be determined.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Math or Math Education, or secondary teacher licensure in Math.
• Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain a professional working relationship with a wide variety of individuals coming from varied backgrounds.
• Master of Math or any master’s with 12 graduate semester credits in Math.
• Teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Teaches assigned courses in accordance with course competencies and syllabi.
• Develops and/or utilizes a variety of instructional strategies, techniques and delivery methods designed to meet the individual learning styles of students.
• Fosters a safe and civil learning environment; informs students about course requirements, evaluation procedures, and attendance policies.
• Monitors, evaluates, and documents student attendance, progress and competency attainment.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Math or Math Education, or secondary teacher licensure in Math
