Job summary

Eastern Iowa Community Colleges is seeking an online Mathematics instructor responsible for teaching courses and assessing learning outcomes. Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Mathematics or Statistics field OR master’s degree in any field plus 12 GSH in the qualifying graduate fields listed (any field listed, with at least 6 credit hours from Mathematics or Statistics field)
• Specific courses from non-qualifying graduate fields can be used to qualify a faculty member if the course content aligns with the subject matter taught.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in accordance with outcomes identified in the established course development model.
• Teaching assignments may include varying delivery formats and methods.
• Collaborate in the development and revision of curriculum as needed.
• Meet promptly with scheduled classes.
• Attend and participate in all scheduled faculty, college, district, and advisory meetings unless excused by the Academic Dean.
• Assure that student outcomes are achieved in each course.
• Evaluate and record student performance and provide regular feedback.
• Refer students to Academic Support and Student Services as needed and meet recommended accommodations.
• Serve as a student academic advisor.
• Develop and administer assessment instruments to validate outcomes.
• Maintain accurate attendance, progress and grade records.
• Effectively plan and implement learning strategies for meeting outcomes.
• Analyze results of planning and teaching and make revisions.
• Assist college recruitment and retention of students.
• Actively serve as a departmental team member fostering continual improvement.
• Maintain currency of professional skills to enhance instructional skills.
• Engage in professional learning activities and stay informed about developing trends.

Must demonstrate excellence in teaching and service, must demonstrate a commitment to the mission and values of the community college. Location: Online, remote NOTE : This applicant pool will run through July 2027

Required Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s degree in a Mathematics or Statistics field OR master’s degree in any field plus 12 GSH in the qualifying graduate fields listed (any field listed, with at least 6 credit hours from Mathematics or Statistics field) EICC may determine and document that specific courses from non-qualifying graduate fields can be used to qualify a faculty member if the course content aligns with the specific subject matter being taught.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

The teacher must see and hear on a continuous basis as well as speak frequently. Positions may vary from standing, sitting, or walking.

Salary $800.00 per credit hour; EICC retirees $1000 per credit hour.

• Complete other job duties unique to your area as assigned by the academic dean.
