Job summary

Communities Unlimited, Inc. is seeking a Small Business Consultant to provide direct, one-on-one management and business skills consulting to startup and existing small businesses in our 7-state area, with emphasis around the Central Mississippi region.

You will work with owners on cash flow, pricing, hiring, record-keeping, and preparing to borrow, mostly in rural communities. Ideal candidate has owned or run a small business and can facilitate workshops and build partnerships.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in business or related field with 1+ year ownership/startup experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field with 5+ years ownership/startup experience.
• Strong facilitation, writing, and communication skills.
• Ability to develop workshops for small business management consulting.
• Ability to build partnerships in target communities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct financial and operational assessments for small business clients.
• Develop scopes of services, financial projections, and actionable plans while delivering consulting.
• Analyze financial data, including ratio analysis, to support decisions.
• Build relationships with community leaders, business owners, and partners.
• Maintain client documentation, reporting, timekeeping, and collaboration.
