Job summary

Omega Healthcare Management Services is seeking an Oncology Data Specialist to accurately abstract cancer cases from the electronic medical record into registry software, ensuring compliance with State, national, and client reporting requirements.

In this remote role, you will perform daily abstraction, resolve edits, follow up on missing data, and maintain documentation while adhering to HIPAA and coding standards such as ICD-O and AJCC.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of oncology data abstracting experience.
• Abstracted data within the past year.
• ODS-C credential is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily abstraction of cancer cases into registry database.
• Run and resolve edits prior to submission to State Central Registry and NCDB.
• Apply CoC and State data standards and coding instructions.
• Request missing treatment data from physicians when needed.
• Submit cases to State Central Registry if requested.
• Maintain logs of abstraction and non-reportable cases.
• Adhere to HIPAA and client-specific quality standards.
