Job summary

Sharp HealthCare is seeking an Oncology Data Specialist (ODS) to maintain cancer data collection systems and support CoC/NCDB reporting. You will abstract medical records, ensure data accuracy, and generate reports for administration, accreditation bodies, and research programs.

Qualifications

• Completion of training course for Tumor Registry.
• Experience with medical records and tumor registry.
• High School Diploma or equivalent; or 5 years of related experience may substitute for High School Diploma or equivalent.
• ODS must be obtained within one year of program completion (graduation from the NCRA accredited program). Department to track and maintain this certification.

Responsibilities

• Abstract accuracy: analyze medical records and complete data fields per ACoS/CCR requirements.
• Data collection and management: use data collection software and review pathology reports for case finding and follow up.
• Data reporting: report annual follow up, support NCCN and other benchmarks, provide data for program dashboards.
• Cancer conferences: organize weekly conferences, coordinate case lists, and document moderator data.
• Confidentiality and compliance: maintain confidentiality per Sharp policy and ensure data quality for accreditation programs.
