Job summary

Sharp HealthCare is seeking an Oncology Data Specialist to maintain a cancer-related data collection system under the Department Manager. The role supports quality outcomes reporting, multidisciplinary cancer conferences, and CoC accreditation requirements.

Required: completion of Tumor Registry training and experience with medical records. Preferred: ODS certification and an H.S. Diploma or equivalent; enrollment in an NCRA accredited program is expected with ODS attainment within one year.

Qualifications

• Completion of training course for Tumor Registry.
• Experience with medical records and tumor registry.

Responsibilities

• Abstract Accuracy: analyze medical records and complete all data fields per ACoS/CCR standards.
• Data Collection and Management: use data collection software and review path reports to ensure accurate coding.
• Data Reporting: support CoC/NCDB reporting and Sharp HealthCare program reporting for quality outcomes.
• Physician and Administrative Cancer Conferences: coordinate meetings and prepare case lists and materials.
• Professional Competency: ODS must be obtained within one year of program completion.
