Job summary

Omega Healthcare Management Services seeks an experienced Oncology Data Specialist to abstract cancer cases into the registry, ensuring accuracy and timely submission to the State Central Registry and NCDB. The role requires adherence to CoC and State data standards and proactive data collection from physicians when data is incomplete.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of ODS credentials, 3+ years of hands-on abstracting, and a track record of high-quality work.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of ODS credentials.
• Minimum of 3 years of recent, hands-on abstracting experience.
• Proven record of at least 90% abstracting quality.
• Productivity target of one abstract every 1 hour 40 minutes with 95% productivity.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily abstraction of cancer cases into the cancer registry database.
• Run and resolve EDITs prior to submission to the State Central Registry and NCDB.
• Abstract cases according to CoC and State data standards and coding instructions.
• Abstract cases within six months from first date of contact; request missing data from physician when needed.
• Maintain a log for abstraction activity including non-reportable cases and follow up on re-admissions.
