Qualifications

• CPC certification within 6 months from date of hire.
• 2+ years of billing experience in a clinic or Physician Office setting.
• 1+ years of coding experience abstracting from clinical notes or dictations.
• Diversified understanding of CPT guidelines and Medicare rules.
• Strong medical terminology and communication skills.
• Position will be remote with occasional on-site meetings.

Responsibilities

• Review, interpret and verify diagnostic, clinical, and infusion codes for oncology providers and extenders.
• Ensure proper codes on all claims prior to submission for charges for the cancer center.
• Audit charges in inpatient and outpatient settings to maintain compliance and accurate capture.
• Act as liaison to physicians and management, providing feedback on documentation and coding.
• Meet coding and abstracting deadlines; support cross-coverage including eligibility, authorization and financial assistance.
