Job summary

Kelsey-Seybold Clinic in Houston is seeking a coder to review and verify diagnostic, clinical, and infusion codes for oncology providers, ensuring accuracy and compliant charge capture across inpatient and outpatient settings.

This remote-friendly role requires CPC within 6 months, 2+ years of clinic billing, and 1+ year of coding from clinical notes. You will collaborate with physicians and the PAA team to improve documentation and coding practices, with occasional on-site meetings.

Qualifications

• CPC within 6 months from date of hire is required.
• 2+ years of billing experience in a clinic or Physician Office setting.
• 1+ years of coding experience abstracting from clinical notes or dictations.
• Diversified understanding of CPT guidelines and Medicare rules and regulations.
• Solid understanding of Medical Terminology and strong communication skills.
• Position will be remote with occasional mandatory on-site meetings.

Responsibilities

• Review, interpret and verify codes for oncology providers and extenders.
• Ensure proper codes on all claims prior to submission and maintain compliance.
• Act as liaison to physicians and clinical teams for documentation and coding feedback.
• Meet coding and abstracting deadlines and support cross coverage for departments.
