Job summary

Walla Walla Community College is seeking part-time adjunct Computer Science faculty to join a standing pool for the 2026-2027 academic year across multiple campuses and online options. WWCC invites applications continuously; qualified applicants will be reviewed ahead of each quarter and may teach courses such as Introduction to Computers, Networking, and Fundamentals of Cybersecurity.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in IT (networking, software development, or security) and the ability to convey

Qualifications

At least 5 years of working experience in the computing or information technology field as a network administrator, software developer/programmer, or security analyst.
An AAS in Software Design (or related IT field) with the demonstrated experience or ability to teach foundational computing, scripting, and infrastructure concepts.
Demonstrated ability to convey complex technical concepts to learners with diverse experience levels.

Responsibilities

Facilitate Learning: Teach assigned classes at the scheduled time and place across a variety of modalities, including in-person, hybrid, blended, and online platforms.
Curriculum Delivery: Provide clear explanations, assignments, and directions that bridge foundational networking with practical, modern security implementations.
Evaluation & Feedback: Conduct frequent outcomes-based evaluations of student performance, providing timely, meaningful feedback so students are aware of their progress throughout the quarter.
LMS Management: Post comprehensive syllabi at the start of the quarter, maintain accurate student records, and submit final grades in the College's LMS according to grading policy.
Student Support: Post and maintain reasonable office hours for student access, connecting students to campus resources and academic support services.
Curriculum Improvement: Review, recommend, and update program textbooks, materials, and technology to keep pace with changing industry standards.
