Job summary

ICF seeks an On-Call Project Archaeologist to support cultural resources work across the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic, with remote opportunities. Responsibilities include field surveys, data recovery, reporting, and compliance planning for NEPA and Section 106.

You will work with senior archaeologists, mentor junior staff, and contribute to multi-disciplinary projects for energy, transportation, and federal sectors.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Anthropology/Archaeology or related field.
• 3+ years of professional experience.
• Meets Secretary of the Interior’s Qualification Standards for Archaeology.

Responsibilities

• Conduct archaeological surveys, testing, and data recovery for projects in the Southeast US and Mid-Atlantic.
• Provide analysis and writing for NEPA, NHPA, and state reviews.
• Develop technical approaches and collaborate with junior and senior staff.
• Write and produce technical reports and documentation.
• Evaluate resources for the National Register of Historic Places and advise on effects.
• Collaborate with historians and multi-disciplinary teams on project delivery.
