Job summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced On-Call Paleontologist to join our U.S. West Rockies Environmental Planning and Permitting team.

This remote, part-time on-call role supports project-based needs and candidates should be located in Utah, Nevada, New Mexico, Arizona, Montana or Colorado. Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's in paleontology or related field, 2 years of field experience, ability to travel, and US citizenship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in paleontology or related field required.
• 2 years of paleontological fieldwork experience or equivalent.
• Ability to travel and work in Western US.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and travel readiness.
• US Citizenship required due to nature of work.

Responsibilities

• Conduct paleontological fieldwork in the Western US.
• Provide taxonomic identification of fossils to genus or species level.
• Monitor field operations and ensure safety.
• Prepare concise reports and manage data.
• Travel to job sites across Western US as needed.
