Job summary

Energy Point Consulting LLC is seeking an experienced Landman to support clients on a project basis. This 1099 contractor role requires 5+ years of title research and due diligence in oil and gas, with independence to manage your schedule remotely.

You will conduct record title research, construct and validate title chains, review leases and JOAs, and prepare client-ready title reports while coordinating with client teams to meet project milestones.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Landman, title research, or due diligence experience in the oil and gas industry.
• Strong experience supporting operated assets, due diligence projects, or E&P environments preferred.
• Advanced understanding of title analysis, chain construction, and ownership calculations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct record title research for assigned properties and projects
• Examine record title for properties of interest to EPC’s clients
• Construct, analyze, and validate chains of title
• Review and interpret oil and gas leases, well files, and regulatory documentation
• Interpret leases, assignments, JOAs, PSAs, unit agreements, farm-ins, and related land contracts
• Identify title defects and recommend curative actions
• Calculate mineral interest, royalty interest, working interest, and net revenue interest with precision
• Prepare clear, professional, client-ready title reports and supporting documentation
• Conduct leasing and acquisition support through professional email and phone communications
• Maintain defensible, audit-ready work product with strong documentation practices
• Communicate questions, title issues, and project blockers early to support timely delivery
• Collaborate with EPC and client teams to meet project milestones and deadlines
