Job summary

BrainWorks is seeking an experienced Oil & Gas Title Attorney to perform title and real estate research across Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia. The role involves drafting title opinions and interpreting related agreements, with a focus on mineral and surface ownership.

Responsibilities include analyzing deeds, leases, mortgages, and probate records, identifying defects and curative requirements, and collaborating with landmen, clients, title examiners, and fellow attorneys to resolve

• Draft original, supplemental, division order, acquisition, and/or drilling title opinions.
• Analyze deeds, leases, assignments, mortgages, probate records, and other instruments affecting mineral and surface ownership.
• Identify ownership interests, title defects, exceptions, liens, encumbrances, and curative requirements.
• Review and interpret oil and gas leases and related agreements.
• Work with landmen, clients, title examiners, and other attorneys to resolve title issues.
• Apply state-specific oil and gas title laws and requirements in PA, OH, and WV.
