Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in oceanography, meteorology, hydrology, physics, physical science, geophysics, civil engineering.
  • Bachelor’s degree + 2 years of experience accepted as alternative.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience with MATLAB, GIS, SQL and spreadsheets preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to adapt to field and office work environments.

Responsibilities

  • Review, enter, and verify metadata and data for water level stations and sensors.
  • Assess quality of bench marks and leveling records; input into database.
  • Evaluate documentation and provide written feedback per CO-OPS criteria.
  • Load preliminary water level and current meter data into the database.
  • Troubleshoot data, metadata issues, and accuracy concerns.
  • Develop, update, and maintain SOPs and technical manuals.
  • Provide technical consultation for CO-OPS partnerships.
  • Deliver oral and written presentations as needed.
  • Participate in meetings with field personnel and teams.
  • Lead field installations and leveling to learn CO-OPS procedures.
  • Produce data charts and graphics for engineering/oceanographic data.
