Job summary

Ampcus Inc. in Chicago, IL (Remote) seeks an experienced Observability SME to serve as the technical authority for enterprise observability strategy, monitoring standards, and operational visibility.

This role will drive the adoption of modern observability practices across applications, infrastructure, cloud platforms, and digital services while maximizing the value of Dynatrace and complementary observability technologies.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Dynatrace expertise.
• Experience designing enterprise observability frameworks.
• Proficiency with OpenTelemetry and telemetry collection practices.
• Strong APM and distributed tracing experience.
• Hands-on with centralized log analytics and event management.
• Knowledge of cloud-native monitoring and Kubernetes.
• Ability to work across engineering, infrastructure, cloud, DevOps and operations teams.

Responsibilities

• Define, establish, and promote enterprise observability best practices, standards, and governance.
• Lead the design and implementation of observability frameworks for business-critical applications and services.
• Develop monitoring strategies spanning applications, infrastructure, cloud platforms, and end-user experience.
• Drive standardization of metrics, logs, traces, events, and telemetry across the organization.
• Partner with engineering, infrastructure, cloud, DevOps, and SRE teams to improve operational visibility and reliability.
• Identify gaps in observability coverage and develop roadmaps to address them.
