Job summary

MemorialCare in Fountain Valley, CA, is seeking a Specialty Physician Coder for OBGYN. The role focuses on reviewing and coding office, hospital, and surgical procedures for accurate reimbursement and compliance, under the Coding Compliance Manager.

Remote work predominates, but you must be located in California. You will collaborate with clinical partners, maintain patient confidentiality, and support revenue cycle improvements in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• 3 years’ experience in hospital or physician’s office as a medical coder.
• 1 year specialty coder in OBGYN or related fields.
• Expert knowledge of ICD10, CPT, HCPCS.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze specialty coding and billing for charge processing.
• Code office, hospital and surgical procedures for reimbursement.
• Ensure accurate and compliant coding for inpatient and outpatient services.
• Identify coding trends and irregularities and assist action items.
