Job summary

MemorialCare is seeking a Specialty Physician Coder for OBGYN to review and code office, hospital, and surgical procedures across inpatient and outpatient settings in a predominantly remote role requiring CA residency. Qualifications

• 3 years’ experience working in a hospital or physician’s office as a medical coder and interacting with physicians.
• 1 year’s experience as a specialty coder in one of: Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Medical Hematology/Oncology, OBGYN, Pulmonology, General Surgery, or Radiation Oncology.
• Expert knowledge of ICD10, CPT, and HCPCS.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology.
• Epic software experience is highly desired.
• Proficient Microsoft skills.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze specialty coding and billing for charge processing.
• Code office, hospital, and surgical/procedures for reimbursement.
• Ensure accurate and compliant medical coding for inpatient and outpatient services.
• Identify coding trends and irregularities with the Coding Compliance Manager.
• Communicate findings and collaborate with clinical partners and teams.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
