Job summary

HireHawk seeks a Nursing Home Litigation Attorney to lead plaintiff-side nursing home abuse matters across the litigation lifecycle. You will work with medical, healthcare, and forensic experts to build strong claims, with room to grow from independent case management to first-chair opportunities.

This fully remote role requires active California Bar status and experience in civil litigation, with standard hours Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM Pacific Time.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school required.
• Active California Bar license in good standing required.
• Plaintiff-side litigation experience preferred with ability to manage civil matters independently.
• Strong legal writing, research, deposition, and case strategy skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple litigation matters, deadlines, and priorities.
• Clear, professional client communication, especially with affected individuals and families.

Responsibilities

• Lead nursing home abuse and neglect cases through investigation, discovery, depositions, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation.
• Build persuasive case strategies by analyzing medical records, evidence, expert reports, facility documentation, and applicable regulations.
• Draft and review pleadings, motions, discovery, settlement agreements, and other litigation documents.
• Conduct legal research using Westlaw and LexisNexis to strengthen arguments and strategy.
• Take and prepare for depositions, identifying testimony and evidence needed to advance cases.
• Maintain clear communication with clients and families, providing guidance and updates throughout litigation.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals, forensic specialists, and other experts to develop evidence of liability and damages.
• Independently manage deadlines, priorities, documentation, and workflows in a remote practice.
• Move matters toward strong outcomes while maintaining professional judgment and attention to detail.
• Grow expertise within the firm and take on increasing responsibility over time.
