Qualifications

• Active California Bar license in good standing.
• 1+ year of elder abuse or neglect litigation experience.
• Experience with nursing home, long-term care, healthcare, or related litigation strongly preferred.
• Strong litigation writing, research, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.
• Ability to manage discovery, deadlines, and multiple active matters.
• Defense-side elder abuse or healthcare litigation experience preferred.
• Sacramento-area candidates preferred.

Responsibilities

• Handle elder abuse and neglect litigation involving nursing homes, long-term care facilities, and healthcare-related matters.
• Manage cases through discovery, motion practice, settlement, and trial preparation.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, briefs, and other litigation documents.
• Take and defend depositions and assist with developing case strategy.
• Coordinate with medical and other expert witnesses.
• Analyze medical records, facility records, discovery, and other evidence.
• Prepare for and participate in court appearances, mediations, and settlement negotiations.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and internal team members.
• Manage deadlines and case responsibilities with increasing independence based on experience.
