Job summary

Protingent Staffing has a contract opportunity for a Rotating Machinery Subject Matter Expert. Responsible for oversight of nuclear fluid pumps through design and manufacture, coordinating with partners and subcontractors on mechanical system designs for reactors and integrating analyses into the plant design.

Apply design codes (ASME, ANS, ASTM, IEEE, NFPA) and provide technical direction to engineers. Manage drawing packages, supplier data, and system specifications while ensuring project

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline from an accredited university.
• 10+ years direct experience with proven mechanical systems skills.
• 5+ years direct experience with pumps and rotating machinery.
• Experience with large vertical pump design and manufacture.
• Experience with full hardware lifecycle and supplier coordination.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and perform analyses.

Responsibilities

• Oversight of large nuclear fluid pumps through design and manufacture.
• Coordinate review of analyses (thermal, seismic, structural, pipe stress, heat transfer) and integrate results into plant design.
• Provide technical direction on design codes (ASME, ANS, ASTM, IEEE, NFPA).
• Guide engineers in nuclear and non-nuclear design standards and allocate regulatory criteria.
• Manage drawings packages (P&IDs, 3D models, system interface drawings) and supplier data.
• Establish system requirements and engineering design specifications; oversee testing programs as needed.
• Support planning and maintain schedule adherence for design activities within a system.
