Job summary

Protingent is seeking an experienced Nuclear Plant Engineering Program Specialist for a contract role focused on developing and maintaining plant procedures. The candidate will oversee a geographically diverse team and ensure high-quality, compliant documents with industry standards.

The role emphasizes strong technical writing, regulatory knowledge, and the ability to implement streamlined processes across procedures and programs.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of commercial nuclear power plant operator or engineering experience.
• 5 years of experience writing nuclear power plant operations and administrative program procedures.
• 2 years in a team lead, supervisor, or manager role.
• High level of knowledge of nuclear power plant systems and terminology.
• Experience with interpreting nuclear information and standards to maintain procedural compliance.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains procedures and standards for writing and revising site procedures.
• Coordinate with multiple departments for cross-discipline procedure reviews and database implementation.
• Lead a team of procedure writers and program owners.
• Ensure team uses industry practices and standards to minimize safety or human performance risks.
• Provide training and mentoring on procedures and standards.
• Engage with industry peers and vendors to identify innovative methods for procedures.
• Identify requirements for regulatory reviews (e.g., 10CFR50.59, 10CFR72.48) and ensure compliance.
• Maintain auditable records of procedure development and revisions.
