Job summary

Lightbridge Corporation is seeking a Principal Licensing Engineer for a fully remote, full-time role. You will lead regulatory analyses, engage with licensing authorities, and develop regulatory submittals for Lightbridge Fuel across water-cooled reactor programs.

The position requires advanced nuclear engineering degrees and several years of licensing experience, plus strong communication and collaboration skills to work with national labs, regulators, and internal teams. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• BS in Nuclear Engineering or closely related field with required years of experience.
• Experience interacting with regulatory agencies (NRC, CNSC, ONR, ASNR, FANR, DOE, NNSA, NR, state regulators).
• Working experience at operating reactors and/or fuel production facilities.
• Understanding of reactor physics, thermal hydraulics, safety analysis, and licensing of fuel designs.
• Familiarity with ASME NQA-1 requirements.
• Ability to pass background check and pre-employment drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead regulatory engagements and submittals.
• Develop regulatory analysis and manage regulatory requirements for topics.
• Review technical information for alignment with regulatory requests.
• Communicate licensing approaches to technical and stakeholder teams.
• Prepare teams for regulatory audits and coordinate responses to information requests.
• Manage schedules and resources for assigned scopes of work.
