Westinghouse Electric Company LLC's WECTEC Staffing Services is seeking an I&C Principal Engineer with 8+ years of nuclear plant experience for a contract position. This role reports to the Manager of operating Plants Electrical Engineering and allows remote work within the United States.

The position leads technical evaluation, design, and implementation of uprate initiatives to safely increase generation capacity, focusing on instrumentation and control, power system modeling, regulatory

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Instrumentation & Control, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline.
• 8–15 years of relevant experience in power generation or heavy industry.
• Power system analysis and ETAP modeling proficiency.
• Instrumentation calculations and transmitter applications expertise.
• Nuclear industry experience (EPU, MUR, or similar uprates) preferred.
• PE license preferred or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Lead uprate projects feasibility studies, system evaluations, and detailed design.
• Be the primary technical authority on uprate strategies, methodologies, and system impacts.
• Provide mentorship across electrical and instrumentation engineering disciplines.
• Perform instrumentation calculations and transmitter applications reviews.
• Review and approve instrument setpoints and scaling changes for uprate operations.
• Support regulatory compliance and licensing submittals.
